2000.11.2 Mars seminar presentation notes

After months – years!  – trying to get somebody in the department to even LOOK at my Mars research, much less give me some feedback, I finally had a chance in a formal seminar.  I was given less than 24 hours to prepare and almost didn’t go, but the department secretary, Rita Pollard, convinced me.  Dr. Broucke, my own advisor, did not attend.

These are the exact notes and presentation of my Seminar in November 2000 to
present my Mars research. This was the weekly meeting of the ASE department’s “Research Seminar” class. There were several grad students there and also Cesar Ocampo (my official adviser at the time, in addition to Roger Broucke; Dr. Ocampo set up the seminar, you will see his name on the flyer), Wallace Fowler, PAM Abusali, and David G. Hull. I saw Dr. Abusali in the hallway at Woolrich Labs the following semester. He was surprised I was still on campus. He said he thought that presentation was my dissertation defense. Dr. Broucke was not there.
